Dr Kintu Shah/Eye Care Hospital/Navkar Eye Clinic

We are located on Polytechnic Road in Ambavadi, right across from C N High School. It’s a busy part of Ahmedabad, especially during the morning and afternoon when the school is starting or letting out. The clinic goes by a few names like Dr Kintu Shah or Navkar Eye Clinic, but we just think of it as the eye place on the corner. We have a lot of glasses frames on display in some glass cases that have seen better days. The testing room is kept dark for the eye exams, which is a nice break from the bright sun outside. Our waiting area has some old-fashioned chairs and we usually have a local newspaper lying around for people to read while they wait their turn. The staff here is small, and we’ve all been working together for a long time. We don't use any fancy scripts when we talk to people; we just explain what’s going on with their vision in plain words. The traffic on Polytechnic Road can be a bit much, so it’s sometimes hard for patients to find parking right in front of the door. Most of our patients are students from the school or families who live in the Ambavadi area. It’s a steady, quiet kind of business for the most part. We aren't trying to be the biggest eye hospital in the city, just a useful one for our neighbors. We open up the shutters every morning and see who needs help.
