Dhavaldixit here. I’m located at 2548, Jani Bhuvan, specifically in Sadumata Ni Pole, Halim Ni Khadki, Shahpur, Ahmedabad. The pin code is 380001. If you know the old part of Ahmedabad, you know how the poles and khadkis are. It’s a maze of narrow streets and very old buildings. Jani Bhuvan is one of those places that has been around for many generations. It feels very solid and permanent. My workspace is tucked away inside the building. It’s not easy to find if you’re not from around this neighborhood. You have to navigate through the small alleys to get here. I like the history of Shahpur. There’s always something happening right outside the door. People are talking, scooters are zooming past, and you can always smell someone cooking food. I’ve been running things from here for quite a while now. I don’t have a fancy logo or any kind of budget for advertising. I just focus on the daily grind. My desk is a bit cluttered with papers and some old coffee mugs. I don’t mind the mess at all. It shows that actual work is getting done. Sometimes I take a break and walk down the pole to talk to the neighbors for a few minutes. We all know each other’s names here. It’s a very different vibe from the newer, glass-filled parts of the city. I plan on staying here as long as I can. It’s home and it’s where my work is.
