Decimal Systems Pvt Ltd is located up on the seventh floor of Silver Oaks, which is right at the Mahalaxmi Cross Road in Ahmedabad. Being up on that floor gives us a bit of a view of the busy traffic below, which is always moving. Our office is a mix of old computer parts and newer systems we’re working on. We’ve been here for several years now, and the building has become very familiar to us. We spend a lot of time sitting at our screens or fixing hardware that isn't behaving properly. It’s the kind of place where there is always a printer that needs ink or a cable that’s gone missing. Ahmedabad is a fast-growing city, and being at a major crossroad like Mahalaxmi means there is always something happening outside. We don’t really go in for the polished tech company look; our office is practical and used for real work. Sometimes we stay late when a system is giving us trouble, drinking coffee and trying to find the glitch. We keep things pretty informal among ourselves and with anyone who comes by to see us. It’s just a bunch of us who happen to be good with systems and we enjoy the daily challenges that come our way. We don't have a mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and some notes about what needs to get done by Friday. It's a simple setup but it works well for what we need to do.
