Creative Crafts Of India

Our workshop is at E-12, Site-C in the Upside area of Sikandara. It’s an industrial patch, so there’s a lot of noise and dust from the nearby units. We’ve been making various craft items here for years under the name Creative Crafts of India. It’s a large, open space with workbenches and a lot of raw materials piled up in the corners. We have a small group of local workers who are really good with their hands. It’s not a polished gallery, it’s a place where things actually get made. You’ll see shavings on the floor and the smell of paint or glue is usually pretty strong. We don’t have a fancy office, just a small desk near the door where we handle the paperwork. Sikandara is a bit out of the main city, but it gives us the room we need to work. We ship things out to different places, but the heart of it is all right here in this shed. We don’t use any big machines, mostly just hand tools and old-fashioned methods. Sometimes an order takes longer than we thought, but we try to keep moving. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but that’s the nature of the work. We’re just a bunch of people who enjoy making things and keeping the old crafts going in our own way. We don't have a big marketing budget, we just hope the quality of what we make speaks for itself when it gets to the buyer. It’s noisy and messy but we like it.
