We are located in Maninagar, very close to Jay Somnath School. On school days, we can hear the bells ringing and the kids playing outside during their break times. Crafting Gifts started out as a hobby in a spare room before we moved into this small space. It’s not a very big shop, but it’s filled with glue sticks, bits of ribbon, and stacks of colorful paper. There is always a lingering smell of craft glue and maybe some cut wood. The workbench in the back is usually covered in scraps because I’m always in the middle of making something. It’s a bit disorganized, to be honest, but that’s how I work best. My hands usually have a bit of ink or paint on them by the end of the day. We don’t have a fancy storefront, just a simple glass door with the name written on it. People from the neighborhood stop by to get things for school projects or small presents for their families. It’s nice being part of the Maninagar community. I have a small electric kettle in the corner for making tea, and I usually offer a cup to anyone who stays long enough to chat. We don’t use a computer for our sales; I just use a small calculator and a paper receipt book. It feels more personal that way. The shelves are mostly made of recycled crates that I painted myself, giving the shop a bit of a handmade look.
