Ashwin Auto-Cast Pvt. Ltd. is out at No 45 in the Panchratna Estate. We are right off the Sarkhej-bavla Highway in Changodar, which is part of the Sanand area. It’s a bit of a drive from the city center, but it’s where all the industrial work happens. Our facility is where we handle the casting and manufacturing of auto parts. It is a large, hot space with a lot of heavy machinery. The smell of metal and oil is something you never really get out of your clothes. We have a small team of workers who keep the furnaces and molds running throughout the day. The office part of the building is just a couple of rooms where we keep the records and talk to suppliers. It’s not a place meant for visitors really, just a working factory. We don’t have fancy landscaping or a nice lobby. Most of the time, the yard is full of raw materials or finished products waiting to be loaded onto trucks. The highway outside is always busy with big rigs, so there is a constant rumble in the background. We’ve been operating here for a while and have seen the estate grow up around us. It’s hard work and the days are long, but we just keep at it. We focus on getting the casting right and making sure the dimensions are what they should be. It’s a plain, no-nonsense industrial operation.
