Chadaria Handicrafts

It's tucked away at 1 Sumitnath Flats, 63/B Swastik Society. We are right across from Tejanshus Hospital and just behind the St Xavier Girls Hostel in Navrangpura. This place has been our base for quite some time now. We deal with all sorts of handicrafts. It is not a shiny showroom like you see in the bigger malls. It is more of a working space where things are kept on shelves and in boxes. My hands are usually a bit dusty by the time the afternoon rolls around. We spend a lot of time sorting through the items that come in. Navrangpura is a busy area, but our corner stays relatively quiet except for the hospital traffic nearby. Sometimes people get confused finding us behind the hostel, but once they see the landmark, they get here fine. We don't have a big staff. It is just a few of us making sure everything is where it should be. We open the doors in the morning and stay until we are done for the day. There is no fancy mission statement on the wall here. We just sell what we have. If you come by, you might see us unpacking crates or just sitting with a cup of tea during a break. It's a regular local business. We keep things simple because that is what works for us. Most of the folks who come in are from the neighborhood or students from the local schools.
