Shilpy Art Gallery

We are Shilpy Art Gallery, located at number 4 in the Kamal Complex, which is right on C G Road here in Ahmedabad. It’s a pretty well-known area. The gallery is a bit of a quiet spot compared to the madness of the main road outside. We have been here for quite some time now. The walls are mostly covered with whatever we are showing at the moment. It isn't a huge space, but it’s enough for what we do. We spend a lot of time arranging the lighting and making sure the frames are straight. Sometimes artists come in to drop off new work, and we spend the afternoon chatting about how things are going. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it clean, but people bring in a lot of dust from the street. We have a small back room for storage where things can get a bit cluttered with bubble wrap and old frames. It’s a nice place to spend the day, even if it gets a bit slow sometimes. People come in to look around, some buy things and others just want to escape the heat for a bit. We don't mind. It is a very normal, local art shop. We just keep the pieces we have and help people find something they like for their walls.
