Big Bazaar Memnagar

The Big Bazaar here in Memnagar is always a bit of a madhouse, especially when there is a big sale going on. We are located inside the Himalaya Mall on Drive In Road. It is a very popular spot in the Gurukul area. I have worked here for about a year now, mostly spending my time in the grocery section. The noise from the billing counters is something you never really get used to. It is just constant beeping all day long. We start our work early in the morning before the mall even opens to the public, getting the fresh milk and bread out on the shelves. The shelves are never really full for long because people buy things so quickly here. We spend a lot of time helping people find simple things, like where the salt is kept or which aisle has the laundry soaps. Sometimes the trolleys get stuck or the wheels are wonky, and we have to go out and push them back to the main entrance. It gets incredibly crowded on Sunday afternoons. You can barely move through the aisles without bumping into someone. We wear these uniforms that are not the most comfortable, but they do the job. My coworkers and I usually grab a quick lunch together in the small back room. It is a long day on our feet and the mall music can be very repetitive, but it is a steady job for us.
