Param Handicrafts

Our place is in Bapunagar, tucked away inside New Sarita Society. It is on Chirag Diamond Road, right across from that big D Mart mall. We spend our time making and selling various handicrafts. The workshop stays full of scraps and tools most of the time. It looks messy to an outsider but we know exactly where everything is kept. We spend most of our day working with our hands. It has been this way for years. The area is usually very crowded because of the mall being right there, so finding a parking spot is a nightmare. We have got a lot of different items we work on, mostly traditional things. Some of the pieces take us several days just to finish. We do not have a fancy showroom to show off, just the workspace where we actually do the making. It is just honest work. Sometimes the materials we get from suppliers are not quite right and we have to send them back, which slows everything down. We have got a couple of regulars who stop by just to see what new thing we are making that week. Being behind India Colony is nice because it is a good community. We are just regular people trying to keep these old crafts going. The floor is usually covered in dust from the carving or the fabric scraps. We do not mind the mess. It is just part of our day. We have been at number 16 for as long as I can remember.
