Our office is located at 1 Bansari Flats in Ruxmani Park. It is very close to Nilkanth Nagar and the Kankaria area. Balaji Tradex Pvt. Ltd. is basically run out of this residential flat. It’s a quiet spot, which is a nice change from the crowded markets in the center of the city. We do a lot of trading and some export-import work from here. Most of the time, the rooms are filled up with various samples and piles of documents that need signing. It’s a bit messy and crowded, but we know exactly where every folder is kept. Being near Kankaria is great because we can take a quick walk by the lake when the work gets too stressful or the phones won't stop ringing. We don't have a big corporate sign outside the building. Just a small nameplate so people know they have come to the right door. We deal with companies from all over, but we are just a small team of three people sitting here in Ahmedabad. We use the internet and our mobile phones to get everything done. Sometimes the neighbors in the other flats wonder what we are doing with all the different couriers coming and going all day. We just explain we are working. We don't use any fancy business talk or corporate jargon. We just try to get the best deals for the goods we move. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the transport doesn't fail.
