At-Home

If you are driving down S.G. Highway in the Bodakdev area, you’ve probably passed the Grand Bhagwati Hotel plenty of times. At-Home is right next door in the Heritage Building. It’s a busy part of the city, and there’s always a lot of traffic and people moving around outside. Our space is filled with things for houses—furniture, little decorations, and stuff like that. It’s a big room and it can feel a bit overwhelming if you don’t have something specific in mind. We spend a lot of our time moving things around to make space for new arrivals. The floors might have some scuff marks from moving heavy tables, and sometimes the price tags are a bit crooked, but that’s just because we’re constantly touching things. We aren't the type of people to follow you around the store; we’re usually busy unpacking a box or helping someone carry a lamp to their car. It’s a straightforward retail job for us. We like the Heritage Building because it has a bit of character compared to some of the newer blocks. People come in mostly to browse and see what’s new. We don’t have any big sales pitches or anything like that. We just keep the lights on and the shelves stocked. It’s a nice place to work, even if the S.G. Highway noise never really stops.
