Assistant

My place is in the Bavari Kumbharwada area on Ranmukteshwar Road. It is quite close to the Vihar Cinema in Pratap Nagar, Baroda. Working as an assistant means I do a little bit of everything. One day I am filing papers and the next I am running errands across town. The neighborhood is very old and the streets are quite narrow. There are many small shops around here selling all sorts of things. I have been working from this location for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot. The noise from the cinema can be a bit much when a new movie starts, but it brings a lot of people to the area. I don't have a fancy office. It’s just a small room where I keep my desk and some supplies. People in Baroda are generally friendly, and I know most of the people on this street. I like the routine of my day. I start early, have some breakfast at the corner stall, and then get to work. Sometimes I have to travel to different parts of the city for my job. The traffic on Ranmukteshwar Road is always heavy, so I usually take my scooter. It is a practical way to get around. I don't use any big words to describe what I do. I just help out where I am needed. It’s a steady job and I like the people I work with. It keeps me busy.
