Apsara Art Gallery

Our place, Apsara Art Gallery, is tucked away in the Ratanpole area, specifically at 131/1, Golwad Naka. If you have ever been to Ratanpole in Ahmedabad, you know how incredibly crowded and narrow the lanes can be. It is the heart of the old city and has a lot of history. We are near Deepkala Saree, which is a major landmark everyone knows around here. Being in Golwad Naka means there is always a crowd outside, mostly shoppers looking at textiles or jewelry. Our gallery space is a bit of an escape from that rush. Inside, it is quieter and filled with whatever pieces we are currently holding. The walls are covered and there isn't much empty floor space because of all the frames and materials. We open up the shutters every morning and the smell of the old city comes in—it’s a mix of street food and old buildings. The address is 380001, which is right in the center of everything. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us here, moving things around, talking to the people who wander in, and keeping the place going. It can get very hot in the summer months because these old lanes don't get much breeze, but we manage. It’s a very traditional way of running a business in a very traditional part of town.
