Down in Kalapinagar, you can find us at Somratna 27, which is part of the Guru Kalgi Dhar Society. It’s a residential area, so it’s a bit different from the main market streets. We are right opposite the Chamanpura Water Pumping Station. If you hear the hum of the pumps, you’re in the right place. Aneri Decorators & Caterers is a family-run sort of thing. We have a lot of equipment stored around, like poles for tents and big cooking vessels. Our space is often cluttered with fabric samples or big stacks of chairs waiting to be loaded onto a truck. It’s not a polished showroom. It’s more of a working yard and a small office where we take notes on what people need for their weddings or parties. Kalapinagar is a tight neighborhood. We know the people living in the society and they know what we do. Sometimes it gets a bit messy when we are loading up for a big event early in the morning. We try to be quiet, but metal clanking is hard to hide. Most of our day is spent either on the phone or out at a site setting things up. When we are back at the office, we’re usually just catching up on paperwork or checking the inventory. It’s a lot of physical work and keeping track of small details so that the decorations look right. We just take it one day at a time.
