Vision Care

We are over at No. 42 in the Niharika Society, right across from Himmatlal Park in Ambawadi. It’s a nice, green area, and being in a society makes it feel more like a home than a shop. Vision Care is where we help folks get their eyes checked and find a pair of glasses that actually fit. The walls are lined with frames of all different colors and shapes. It’s usually quiet inside, except for the hum of the testing equipment or the sound of someone trying on different pairs. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time, and we know most of the families around here. It’s not a big chain store with bright neon lights. It’s just a small, clean space where you can sit down and take your time. Sometimes the lenses take a few extra days to arrive from the lab, and we have to call people to let them know. We try to be honest about what looks good and what doesn’t. Our desk is often covered with lens cleaning cloths and small screwdrivers for fixing loose hinges. People stop by to get their frames adjusted if they sit crooked on their face. We don’t do a lot of fancy advertising; people just know where we are from word of mouth. It’s a peaceful way to spend the day, helping neighbors see a bit clearer.
