All Gift Studio

You can find All Gift Studio right opposite the Tibetan Market in Navrangpura. It’s a very busy part of town, especially during the winter months when the market across the street is full of people. We’ve been in this spot for a few years, and the shop is a bit narrow, so we have to use the wall space all the way up to the ceiling. I use a small step ladder to reach the boxes on the top shelves. The front window gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, which sometimes fades the packaging on the items we put on display. We don't have any fancy marketing strategies; we just put out what looks nice and hope people like it. There’s always a roll of brown tape and some scissors sitting on the main counter because we are usually wrapping something up. The floor is made of old tiles that have a few chips in them, but it doesn’t bother anyone. Navrangpura is a noisy place, with the honking and the crowds, but once you step inside, it’s a bit quieter. I keep a jar of candy on the counter for the kids who come in with their parents. It’s a simple life running a gift shop. Sometimes I spend the whole morning just rearranging the shelves to make everything fit better. We don’t have a big staff, just me and occasionally a helper if the holiday season gets too crazy.
