Our workspace is tucked inside the Siddhivinayak Ind. Estate over in Amraiwadi. Specifically, you’ll find us at S-32, which is part of the New Cotton Mill area near 4 Rasta. It’s a busy part of the city, always lots of trucks moving in and out, and the noise of the machinery next door is something you just get used to after a week or two. Alka Chemi Cosmetics is basically our life's work, though it’s mostly just hard labor and keeping track of batches. We spend a lot of time on our feet on the concrete floor. The air usually smells like whatever we’re mixing that day, which can be pretty strong depending on the weather. We aren't a big corporate office with glass walls; it’s more of a workshop where we get our hands dirty. Most of our day is spent making sure the mixers are working right and the bottles are getting filled without too much mess. It’s a bit of a maze getting back to our unit if you don’t know the estate well, but once you’re here, it’s just us working away. The 4 Rasta intersection is always jammed, so getting supplies delivered on time is usually the hardest part of the job. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. There are no polished presentations here, just people in overalls making sure the orders are ready to go out to the customers.
