Advance Exports

Advance Exports is based at 75 New Cloth Market, right outside Raipur Gate. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with all the fabric traders and rickshaws. Our shop is just one of many in this market, but we’ve carved out our own little space here. We deal with exports, mainly focusing on different types of cloth and garments that people want in other places. Most of our day is spent unfolding and folding fabrics or checking that the stitching looks right. The market is always loud, and you can hear the tea sellers shouting all day long. We don't have much space, so we have to be smart about how we stack the bolts of cloth. It’s a bit of a family vibe here; we have people who have been helping us for decades. We don't use any fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is still written down in our big registers. Sometimes customers come in to look at samples, and the whole place gets covered in threads and scraps. It is messy and loud, but it is how we like it. We make sure the orders are packed tight so they don't get ruined during transit. It is a lot of back-and-forth with the transporters at the gate. We just take it one day at a time and keep moving.
