A C Kataria & Co is located in a very busy part of Ahmedabad called Kalupur. Specifically, we are in the Mahalaxmi Cloth Market on the second floor at shop number 11. If you’ve ever been to Kalupur Kotni Rang, you know how crowded and lively it can be with all the textile trading going on. It’s a real maze of shops and people moving fabrics back and forth. Our office is a small part of that massive market. We don’t have much room for anything other than our desks and a lot of paper records. The air is always thick with the sound of the market, which we’ve grown to love over the years. Climbing the stairs to the second floor is part of our daily exercise. It’s definitely not a modern corporate office with glass walls. It’s a traditional space that fits right into the old-school vibe of Kalupur. We know most of the other shopkeepers in the market, and we often share tea during the quiet moments of the afternoon. Our work is steady, and we just focus on getting things finished one day at a time. Finding us can be a bit tricky if you aren't familiar with the market lanes, but once you arrive, it feels very familiar. We aren't interested in being flashy or making big promises. We just stay here in the cloth market and do what we need to do in this historic part of town.
