C. C. Chokshi Co.

If you are looking for C. C. Chokshi Co., you have to head over to the Heritage building. We are up on the 3rd Floor. It’s right near Gujarat Vidhyapith, which is a good landmark because everyone knows where that is. The office is off Ashram Road in the Usmanpura area. Traffic can be a bit of a headache during rush hour, but that’s just how it is in this part of the city. Being on the third floor means we get a bit of a view, though mostly it is just the roofs of other buildings and the tops of trees. The elevator works most of the time, but sometimes we just take the stairs if we are in a hurry. Inside, the space is filled with the usual office stuff. Desks are cluttered with folders and there is always a printer humming somewhere in the back. We have been here for a good while. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the paperwork to worry about that. It feels like a lived-in space. It’s not one of those glass and chrome places you see in the new parts of town. It’s a working office near the Vidhyapith where people come and go all day. We keep the windows shut when the dust from Ashram Road gets too bad. It’s just a normal place where we do our jobs and try to keep things moving.
