Z.P. Primary School

Our school is located right on Hathras Road in Tarrakpur, so it’s never really quiet. Being a Z.P. Primary School in this part of Agra means we’re used to the sound of trucks and cars passing by all day long. The building is right there near the road, and sometimes the dust from the traffic gets into the classrooms, but we just wipe the desks and keep going. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It’s a basic setup with classrooms that have seen many years of use. Most of the kids come from the families living in Tarrakpur or the nearby areas along the highway. We start early, before the heat gets too bad, and focus on the lessons for the day. The teachers and staff are all local, so we know most of the parents by name. We spend our breaks sitting outside when it’s not too sunny, just talking about the day or what needs to be fixed in the school next. It’s a very grounded existence. We don’t try to impress anyone with big words or fancy promises. We’re just here to make sure the children learn their basics and have a safe place to spend their mornings. It’s a lot of routine and simple hard work, but that’s the reality of a primary school in this part of Agra.
