Image Overseas

The office is right at C.P. Bazar where the 2nd crossing meets. It is a loud place with all the bikes and carts going past Jat Ke Kua. We spend most of our time on the phone or dealing with stacks of papers that never seem to get smaller. There is a lot of shouting from the market outside which makes it hard to hear sometimes. We handle stuff for overseas and it involves a lot of checking and re-checking lists. The walls are painted a dull white and there are maps pinned up everywhere. It is not the kind of place where you come to sit and have coffee. We are usually moving boxes or typing out labels. The air conditioner works when it wants to, so we keep the windows open mostly. Dust from the street gets on everything but that is life in the bazar. People come in asking for directions more often than they come in for business. We have a small crew and we all do a bit of everything from sweeping the floor to filing tax documents. It feels like we are always waiting for a shipment or a phone call. The 2nd crossing is a landmark for most locals so people find us eventually even if the sign is a bit faded from the sun. We just keep our heads down and try to get the work done before it gets too dark.
