Down at C-12 in the Adityapur Industrial Area, we run Shree Baba Shyam Metalliks Pvt. Ltd. Being near the Industrial Estate means we are surrounded by other workshops and factories, so the sound of metal and machinery is something we hear from morning until night. It gets really hot inside the unit, especially during the summer months when the metal buildings just soak up the sun. We are just a group of people who know our way around metal and how to handle the heavy stuff. It’s not a clean job, our hands are usually covered in grease or iron dust by noon. We’ve been in Adityapur for a while now and have seen the area change as more businesses move in. Our unit at C-12 isn't much to look at from the outside, but we have everything we need to get the daily work finished. We don’t spend much time in an office; most of the day is spent on the floor making sure the machines are running and the orders are getting sorted. It’s hard work and the hours can be long when we have a lot to get through, but we just put our heads down and do it. We aren't interested in sounding corporate; we just want to do the work and get home to our families at the end of the shift. Life in the industrial estate is fast and loud, but it suits us.
