Janardhan Kirana Shop

I run Janardhan Kirana Shop located at H. No. 1-176 in Gannaram. It’s a small shop packed with all the basic things people need every day. I’ve got bags of rice stacked in the corner and jars of sweets on the counter for the kids who come in after school. Kaghaznagar is a bit of a distance away, so people here rely on me for their salt, oil, and soap. I open early in the morning and usually don’t close until late at night. The space is a bit cramped because I try to stock as much as possible for my customers. Sometimes I forget to reorder something and have to tell a neighbor to come back tomorrow. It’s just me behind the counter most of the time. I know almost everyone who walks through the door by name. We talk about the rain or the prices of dal while I weigh out their sugar. The shelves are made of wood and I painted them myself a few years ago. It’s not a supermarket; it’s just a village store where you can get your daily supplies. I keep a ledger for those who pay at the end of the month. It gets dusty with the wind blowing through the front door, so I spend a lot of time with a duster. It’s a simple life and I like being part of the community here in Gannaram. I hope to keep the doors open for many more years to come.
