Abdul Kirana Shops

Abdul Kirana Shops is a local spot located in New Colony, Kaghaznagar. We’ve been serving this neighborhood for a long time now. It’s a typical kirana store where we stock all the basics like rice, pulses, sugar, and tea. The shop isn't very big, and we have bags and containers stacked up everywhere to make use of the space. It can get a bit crowded during the morning and evening rush when everyone is coming home from work. We know most of our customers by name since they live just down the street in New Colony. We don't have a computer system for billing; we usually just write things down in a ledger or do the math in our heads. It’s faster that way when there's a line. Kaghaznagar is a quiet enough town, and being in New Colony means we see the same faces every day. We open early to make sure people can get what they need for breakfast and stay open until fairly late. Sometimes we run out of certain items if the supply truck is late, but we try our best to keep the essentials in stock. There’s no marketing or big signs. People just know we are here. It’s a family-run thing, so you’ll often see one of us sitting behind the counter chatting with a neighbor while weighing out some lentils. It’s not a complicated life, but it’s an important one for the community here.
