Chetan Computer

Out here in Suraj Nagar in Yavatmal, we run Chetan Computer. It is a straightforward business where we focus on what people in the area actually need for their daily tech. We aren't trying to be some huge electronics chain. Most of our day is spent at the workbench with a magnifying glass or a soldering iron. We see a lot of computers that have seen better days, and we try to get a few more years of life out of them for our customers. The shop is located in a spot that’s easy enough to find if you know Yavatmal. It’s a bit of a workspace more than a retail store, so you’ll see parts and tools lying around pretty much everywhere. We don’t have a receptionist or anyone like that. When you come in, you’re usually talking to the person who’s going to be opening up your machine. We handle software issues too, like when someone accidentally deletes something important or gets a virus from a bad download. It can be frustrating work sometimes, especially when a part takes a week to arrive in the mail, but we get through it. We’ve grown to know the families around Suraj Nagar well over the years. They trust us because we’re honest about what can be fixed and what’s just junk. It’s a quiet life, just fixing things and keeping the computers in town running as best they can.
