Tanish Tiles

We’re located in Radaur, specifically behind Mukand Lal National College. It’s a pretty busy area with all the students around. We deal with tiles and have been doing this for a good while. People from all over the district come by when they’re building something new or just fixing a leak in the bathroom. The yard is usually stacked with crates of different sizes. It gets a bit dusty out there, but that’s just part of the business. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights and fancy chairs. It’s just a workspace where we keep our stock and help people pick what they need. My cousin and I run the place. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea, and other days we’re moving heavy boxes from morning until dark. It’s hard work on the back, but we’re used to it by now. We know most of the people who walk in by their first names since Radaur isn’t that big. If we don't have a certain color in stock, we try to get it in the next shipment. We don't use any big computer systems, just a simple book to keep track of things. It’s a straightforward local shop and we like it that way. We open up early and stay until the work is done. It’s just a regular part of life here behind the college.
