If you come down to Buria in Jagadhri, you will find our place, Krishna Engineers & Fabricators, right where the main activity happens. It is not a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. Instead, it is a working shop filled with the sound of grinders and the bright flash of welding torches. Most mornings start with us opening the shutters and checking what needs to get done for the day. There is always a lot of metal lying around, from heavy sheets to small parts that we are putting together. The air usually smells like burnt iron and machine oil, which is just how we like it. We spend most of our time standing at the workbenches or moving heavy pieces across the floor. Sometimes it gets really hot in here, especially during the summer months in Haryana, but we just keep the fans running and get on with the work. We just focus on the job at hand and try to get things right the first time. We usually wrap things up as the sun goes down, locking up the tools and heading home until we do it all over again tomorrow.
