About Sr. asst. director Of Fisheries – Agriculture & Farming in Yadgir
My office is over in the APMC Secretary Quarters. It’s a government spot, so it’s pretty straightforward. Being the Senior Assistant Director of Fisheries means a lot of time is spent dealing with files and local pond reports. The building is one of those standard quarters, nothing special to look at. I have a wooden desk that’s seen better days and a couple of metal filing cabinets. People come in from the surrounding villages to talk about their fish tanks or get permits. There’s usually a bit of a wait because the paperwork takes time. I’ve got a small staff who helps keep things moving. We go out into the field sometimes to check on the hatcheries. It gets hot out there, but it’s better than sitting under a slow fan all day. The APMC area is always busy with tractors and bags of grain, so there’s a lot of noise outside. We try to help the local fishermen as best as we can with what we have. It’s not a high-budget operation. Most of the day is just routine stuff, answering questions and signing off on documents. The tea stall nearby is where we usually end up for a break. It’s a humble setup, but we manage to cover quite a bit of ground from this little office. Sometimes the files get stacked so high I can't see the person sitting across from me. We just take it one day at a time here and do the best we can.
