If you are traveling along the Main Road in Narsapur, you’ll likely pass by Vijaya Lakshmi Rice Mill. We are at Pl.No.1-89/12. It’s a busy spot because the road is one of the main ways people get around this area. The mill has been part of the landscape here for quite a while. We handle a lot of rice, and there is always a rhythm to the work that follows the seasons. When the harvest comes in, we are working around the clock. During the slower months, we spend time fixing the machinery and cleaning the storage areas. The building is simple and doesn't have any fancy signs. Most people just know the building by sight. We don't have a big staff, just a few local guys who know how to run the equipment. We talk to the farmers who bring their grain in, and sometimes the conversations go on for a while over a cup of tea. It’s a very local way of doing things. Narsapur is a good place to live and work. We don't think much about being "corporate" or anything like that. We just focus on getting the rice processed and out the door so people can have it on their tables.
