Thallada Chilli Farmers Producer Companylimited

This company is run by a group of farmers from the Thallada Mandal. Our main office is located at 1-14 in the middle of the village area. We deal mostly with chillies because that is what grows best in our soil. It is a big group effort where we try to manage the selling and the storage of what we harvest. It is not a big fancy office building with air conditioning. It is just a practical space where we can all meet and talk. We started this because individual farmers were having a really hard time on their own. Now we work together and it feels a bit better. We have all lived in Thallada for a very long time. You can find us at the office most mornings before the sun gets too hot to handle. The work involves a lot of lifting and counting heavy sacks of produce. We talk about the rain every single day because it is the most important thing for our lives. If the monsoon is late then everyone gets very stressed out. We do not have any marketing people or business experts here. We just use what we have learned from our fathers and grandfathers about the land. It is a very local thing and we know the crop well. Sometimes we just sit around and drink tea while we wait for a truck. It is a slow pace but it is steady.
