Srinivasa Paraboiled Rice Mill

We are located in Narsapur, right across from the Sai Deluxe Theater. It is a pretty good landmark because everyone knows where the theater is. Our place is the Srinivasa Paraboiled Rice Mill. Being a paraboiled mill means we have those big soaking tanks and steam boilers. It is a hot and humid place to work, especially in the summer. We spend our days boiling and drying the paddy before it gets milled. There is a lot of steam and smoke around the yard. It is a noisy place with all the blowers and motors running. We don't have any corporate offices or fancy lobbies. It is just the mill and a small corner for the books. We have been here for a long time. Our regulars know the way. Sometimes the smell of the soaking rice is quite strong, but you get used to it. We work mostly with local farmers. It is a tough job and the hours are long during the harvest. We don't use much technology besides the mill itself. Everything else is done by hand or with simple tools. We try to keep the yard tidy but with all the husk and grain, it is hard. We just keep the boilers going and make sure the rice comes out right. That is what a day looks like for us here. It is just a routine we have followed for years and it keeps us busy enough.
