Sri Surya Rice Mill

Tallapudi is a busy place, and our mill sits right at 9-47 on Andhra Bank Road. You can usually hear the machines running from a distance. Sri Surya Rice Mill is where the local grain ends up after the harvest. It’s a dusty job, and there is always the smell of husks in the air. We’ve been at this location for a long time. The building isn't much to look at, just old brick and heavy equipment. We spend our days loading and unloading sacks. The road near the Andhra Bank gets crowded, especially when the trucks are lined up. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just have the mill and the people who work it. It gets really hot inside during the summer, but we keep the fans going. Farmers come by with their loads, and we get to work. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to spend half the day fixing it with whatever tools are handy. It’s honest work, even if it leaves you tired by evening. Tallapudi has a lot of mills, but we’re used to our spot on the main road. We don't worry about being the biggest or the most modern. We just focus on getting the rice processed and out the door. It’s a simple life, focused on the grain and the seasons. The machines are loud and the work is hard, but we stay busy.
