Lingagudem is a quiet place, mostly, unless it’s harvest time. We set up Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi Horticulture Farmers Producer Company Limited at D.No.2-67/1 to help with the fruit and vegetable crops we grow around here. Horticulture is tricky because everything spoils so fast if you aren't careful. We spend a lot of our time worrying about trucks and crates and who has what ready to pick. It’s a lot of physical work, and by the time we get to the office at the end of the day, we’re usually pretty tired. The space isn't much, just some desks and chairs in a small building, but it serves its purpose. We talk about irrigation, new types of fruit trees, and the bugs that keep eating the leaves. Everyone in the group has their own way of doing things, so we have plenty of long discussions before we agree on anything. It’s not like those companies you see in movies with the glass walls. We have dust on our boots and dirt under our fingernails. But we know our plants. We started this so we could get our produce to the markets in better shape and hopefully keep more of the money for our families. It’s a slow process, and we make mistakes, but we’re learning as we go. That’s just the reality of life in Lingagudem. We try to be fair and keep things simple for everyone involved.
