Sri Lahari Rice Mill

Sri Lahari Rice Mill is located at Sry.No.256 in Arulla, within the Tadepalli Gudem Mandal. We are a bit out of the way, surrounded by fields, which is nice because it’s a bit quieter than being in the middle of town. Our mill has been operating for a good while now, and the building definitely shows its age. We work with a lot of the local farmers who bring their paddy to us for processing. There is always a lot of activity when the harvest comes in, with tractors lining up down the road. Our crew is just a handful of local men who have lived here their whole lives. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything fancy. We just aim to get the milling done so the farmers can get their product to market. Inside the mill, it’s quite warm and the air is thick with the smell of grain. We have a small area where we keep the finished bags before they are picked up. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. It’s hard, physical work, but it feels good at the end of the day. We don't spend money on marketing because everyone in the village already knows where we are. We just keep doing what we've always done.
