Sri Krishnanda Rice Mill

We’ve been here at this spot near Vasha Kodaru Bridge for a good while now. Running a rice mill in Bhimavaram means early mornings and plenty of dust. My family started this place because rice is what everyone knows around here. The machines can get pretty loud during the peak season, but that’s just how it goes when you’re processing grain for the local folks. We’re located right at Dr.No.9-2-11, and most people know us just by seeing the trucks lined up. It’s not a fancy setup with air conditioning or anything like that. We spend most of our days checking the moisture in the paddy and making sure the hullers are running right. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when it rains near the bridge and the roads get muddy. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s a messy job sometimes, with husks flying everywhere, but it’s honest. People come by from all over West Godavari to drop off their harvests or pick up bags. We don’t have a big office or a receptionist. You usually find us out on the floor or sitting on a plastic chair near the entrance. If the power goes out, we wait it out. That’s just life in a small town mill. We’ve known our neighbors for years and they know where to find us when they need their rice sorted. It's just us here, working.
