Mani Fancy Store

If you walk down Sivalayam Street near the post office here in West Godavari, you’ll find my little place, Mani Fancy Store. It’s at 5-4-7, a small spot tucked away where things can get pretty crowded. I’ve been running this for a while now, and the shelves are always overflowing with ribbons, clips, bindis, and all sorts of small things. It’s not a big corporate store, just a local shop where I know most people by their first names. In the afternoons, when the sun is really hitting the front door, it gets quite warm inside. I have a small fan that rattles a bit, but it helps. People come in looking for a specific thread or a certain shade of lipstick, and sometimes I have to dig through three boxes to find it. My handwriting on the price tags isn't great, and sometimes the floor needs a good sweep after a busy morning, but I do my best. It’s a noisy street with the bells from the temple nearby and people heading to the post office, so there’s always something to see. I don’t have a website or anything like that. I just open the shutters every morning and wait for whoever needs a bit of tailoring material or a gift for a kid's birthday. It’s just me and my shop, trying to keep the shelves full and the customers coming back for their daily needs.
