Lakshmi Venkata Ramana Rice Mill

Our rice mill is located over in Penumadam at door number 13-45. We are right in the heart of the West Godavari District which is a really good place for this kind of work. The mill is almost always humming with the steady sound of the machinery running in the back. It is a bit of a dusty job to be honest but you cannot really help that when you are dealing with large amounts of rice all day long. Lakshmi Venkata Ramana Rice Mill is a name that has been known around this area for a decent amount of time. We are just local people running a local business and most of the staff grew up right around here. We know the farmers who bring their crops to us and we know the people who come by to buy the husks for their animals. It is a very practical and hands-on environment to work in every day. We do not have air conditioning in the main sheds just some big industrial fans to keep the air moving during the humid months. Some days the heat is really tough and it makes the physical labor harder but we just keep at it until the job is done. We have a few different sheds for storage and the main area where the actual milling happens. It is not exactly a pretty sight with all the metal and bags of grain everywhere but it works.
