Lakshmi Raghavendra Steel House

Our shop, Lakshmi Raghavendra Steel House, is located at Pl.No. 11-52-62, right near the Iron Center on Gudivadavari Street. Being so close to the iron market means there is always a lot of heavy lifting and metal sounds in the air. We deal with steel items of all kinds, mostly things people need for their kitchens or houses. The floor is made of rough stone because steel is heavy and would crack anything else. We don't have much of a display, things are mostly stacked against the walls or kept in the back room. When a customer comes in, they usually know exactly what weight or size they want. The sun shines directly into the front of the shop in the morning, making the metal reflect everywhere. It gets quite warm inside. We have a small desk near the entrance where we sit and wait for people. Gudivadavari Street is quite narrow, so when a truck comes to drop off new stock, it blocks the whole road for a bit. We just help carry the pieces in and get back to work. There are no fancy uniforms or big signs here. It is just a place where you can find honest steel goods. We have been in this spot for years and the local people know us by face. We just focus on getting the daily work done and closing up by evening.
