Grade Class

Started the place here in Palakol, right in the weavers colony. It is a busy spot. Most days we are just sitting here waiting for the kids to show up after their regular school is done. The building is nothing special, just a regular place with some benches and a whiteboard that won't stay clean. My father, Naresh, set this up a while back and we just kept it going. You can hear the looms working in the houses nearby while we try to focus on the books. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows and keep moving along. People around here know where we are, right near Satyanarayana’s place. It isn't a big corporation or anything like that. Just some rooms where we try to help the students understand their lessons a bit better. We have stacks of papers everywhere and the floor needs a sweep by noon because of all the dust from the road. Most of the parents work in the weaving trade, so they want their kids to learn things they didn't get a chance to. We just sit here, go through the chapters, and hope the exams go well for everyone. It’s quiet in the mornings but once four o'clock hits, the whole place fills up with noise and energy. That is just how it is here every day of the week. We have been in this same spot for years.
