Finance Accountant

I’m set up in Surampudi, specifically over at Gangarao Chinamilli’s place. It’s in the Iragavaram mandal of West Godavari. Mostly, this part of the district is quiet, which really helps when you are trying to focus on numbers all day long. My job is to handle accounting work for folks around here. It definitely isn’t a massive office with fancy glass doors or anything like that. Inside, there is just a room with my desk, some old wooden chairs for people to sit in, and a lot of paper records stacked up in piles. Even though the fan makes a bit of noise, I don’t really mind it. Having lived in this area for a long time, I know how things go. Often, people walk in with their tax papers or just to ask a quick question about their savings. My goal is just to explain things in a way that makes sense to them. Since it is only me doing the work, I know exactly where every file is kept. The village life suits me just fine. On hot afternoons, I usually take a short break before finishing up the ledgers for the day. Complicated software isn't really my thing. Usually, a good calculator and a pen do the trick. West Godavari is a nice place to be based. Seeing the same farmers and shopkeepers every season is a part of the job I enjoy. It feels good to help them keep their finances in order. I stay busy from morning until the sun goes down. I don't need much more than that.
