Our shop is at 3/200 in Milap Market, which is part of the Beri Wala Bagh area in Subhash Nagar. If you know where Aggarwal Sweets is, we are very close to that spot, which makes it easy to find us. Delhi 110027 has been our home for a long time now. The market is always loud and full of life, which I actually enjoy because it never gets boring. I like seeing the delivery trucks, the tea sellers, and the people rushing by while I’m working at the chair. Inside the shop, it’s a bit different, a bit more relaxed once you sit down and the door closes. We mostly do haircuts for the men in the neighborhood. Some want a very short crop while others are growing theirs out and just want a little trim to keep it neat. I’ve got my favorite pair of shears that I’ve used for years, and they still work better than the new ones I bought last month. We talk about a lot of things here—cricket, the local weather, or just what’s happening on the street outside. It’s a small shop but we keep it tidy and organized. I usually start the day by cleaning the mirrors and checking the water supply. Subhash Nagar is a busy place, and Milap Market is right in the thick of it all. Sometimes I stand at the door when it’s empty just to watch the crowd go by for a minute. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just cut hair, offer a shave, and try to make sure everyone is happy with the result before they leave.
