About The Workshop – Event & Planning in West Delhi
If you’re looking for us, we are down in L-Block at EL-11 on the ground floor. The Workshop is exactly what the name says. It’s a space filled with sawdust, metal scraps, and half-finished projects. We don’t have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. Usually, you have to shout over a drill to get someone’s attention. The walls are covered in notes scribbled in marker and old calendars that nobody bothered to take down. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the machinery and the workbenches. We spend a lot of time fixing tools that decided to quit on us or trying to figure out why a particular piece of wood won't sit flush. It’s not a clean environment. If you come in wearing nice clothes, you’ll probably leave with some grease or dust on them. We like it that way, though. It feels like real work is happening. The light through the front door is the only way we know what time of day it is. We don’t do much talking unless it’s about how to join two pieces of material together or where the 10mm wrench went. It’s just a bunch of us who enjoy making things with our hands and don’t mind getting a bit dirty in the process. There’s always a radio playing somewhere in the back, usually stuck on a station with too much static. It's nothing fancy, just a place where we get things done.
