Sumizo Events & Exhibits

Sumizo Events & Exhibits is based at Wz-49/20 on the 2nd Floor. We’ve got a bit of a climb up the stairs to get to our workspace. It’s a place where we think about how to build things for shows and exhibits. The office is usually covered in sketches, measuring tapes, and small models made of foam or wood. It’s not a shiny corporate office. There are piles of old catalogs and samples of flooring and wood finishes scattered around. We spend a lot of time at the actual event sites, so the office is often empty except for when we are planning the next project. When we are here, it’s mostly about making phone calls to carpenters and suppliers. The 2nd floor gets a bit stuffy in the summer, but we have a small AC that mostly works. We started this because we liked building stuff and seeing it come together in a big hall. It’s hard work, often involves staying up all night at a convention center to finish a booth. We don't have a fancy mission statement or anything. We just try to build stuff that doesn't fall over and looks like what the client asked for. It’s a small operation, and we do most of the heavy lifting ourselves. Every project is a bit different, which keeps things interesting, even if it is exhausting most of the time. We are just a few people trying to get things done right while dealing with deadlines.
