Our New Delhi office is over in the 110078 zip code area. Random House India Pvt Ltd has been operating out of this part of Delhi for quite some time. It’s a different vibe from the Gurgaon side of things. This area is more settled and feels a bit more like the old city in some ways, even if the buildings are newer. The office is a functional space where we handle a lot of the administrative side of the business. It’s not where you’d come for a fancy meeting, but it’s where the real work gets done. We have rows of desks and a lot of filing cabinets that are overflowing with records. The lighting is a bit bright, but it keeps us awake during the slow afternoon hours. Outside, the Delhi traffic is always a constant hum, but inside we try to keep things organized. People here are usually busy typing away or talking on their headsets. We don't have a big corporate lobby with a receptionist. You just walk in and someone will eventually look up from their computer to see what you need. It’s a very straightforward environment. We get our lunch from the local shops nearby, and there’s always someone bringing in snacks to share. It’s a bit messy at times, especially when a new shipment of books arrives and we have to find space for all the boxes in the back room.
