Our office is in Subhash Nagar at B-138, right on Shivaji Marg. It is a place where families come to talk about the future. We have a lot of files and folders filled with details about people looking for a match. There are a couple of desks and some chairs where parents sit and talk to us. It is a serious business, but we try to keep the atmosphere calm. The street outside, Shivaji Marg, is usually quite noisy with cars and people, but inside we just focus on the paperwork. We spend a lot of time looking at photos and reading through descriptions. It is not like the movies; it is mostly just checking facts and seeing if two families might get along. We’ve been here in Subhash Nagar for quite some time, so we know how things work in this community. Sometimes we have people coming in from far away because they heard about us from a neighbor. We don't use any high-tech systems, just our notebooks and the files we have built up over the years. It takes a lot of patience to do this kind of work. We just sit here, drink our tea, and go through the profiles one by one. It is a very human process and we take it one day at a time. It can be long hours but it feels important to the people who visit.
