Uttam Nagar is always crowded, and the street outside is no exception. We are on the ground floor, which makes it easy for people to stop in. The shop isn't massive. It’s actually quite cozy once you get inside. We have the counters set up and some mirrors on the walls. It’s a bit bright inside because of the lights we use to show off the pieces. The floor is marble, but it’s got a few cracks here and there from years of use. We don't mind. It shows we’ve been here a while. Outside, you can hear the Metro trains passing by every few minutes. It’s a constant sound that we’ve grown to love. The staff is just a small group of us who have worked together for ages. We know most of the people who walk past our door. It’s a neighborhood business, really. We don’t have a big corporate headquarters, just this spot in Delhi. It’s where we feel most comfortable and where all the work happens every day. It gets very busy around the festivals, but we just take it one day at a time and keep things simple.
