Our workshop is at D-54 in Mansarovar Garden. Pavillion Furnishers Pvt Ltd sounds like a big corporate name, but we are just a group of people who make and fix furniture. The "Pvt Ltd" part is just for the paperwork. Inside the shop, it smells like sawdust and glue most of the time. We have piles of wood leaning against the back wall and some half-finished chairs near the entrance. We aren't a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of our customers just come directly to the back to see what we are working on. We don’t have a sales team. We just show people the wood we use and explain how we put the joints together. It’s honest work that gets our hands dirty. The neighborhood of Mansarovar Garden is a good place to be. We know the other shop owners on the block. We usually start early in the morning before it gets too hot. By the afternoon, we are usually sanding things down or applying the finish. We don't have any big mission statements or grand visions. We just want to make furniture that doesn't fall apart after a year. It’s a simple goal. Sometimes the orders pile up and we have to work late, but we don't mind it much. We like the feeling of finishing a piece and seeing it ready to go out. It’s what we do every day and it keeps us busy.
