Organic Kitchen

You can find us in C Block 4 of Janakpuri. We have been operating out of this small space for a while now. We mostly deal with different kinds of grains, pulses, and some vegetables that come from farms that don't use all those heavy chemicals. It is a relatively quiet neighborhood compared to other parts of Delhi. We spend our mornings checking over the sacks and making sure everything is stored properly in the bins. Sometimes the shipments from the growers take much longer than we expect because of the rain or transport issues. We do not have a big staff at all, just a couple of us who actually care about what goes into the food we eat. The kitchen area is clean but it is clearly a place where work gets done every day. We do not have any shiny menus or fancy uniforms for the staff. People who live in the nearby blocks know us well and they come in to pick up their weekly supplies of rice or flour. It is a lot of heavy lifting with the big bags, but we are used to it by now. We keep the windows open to let in some air while we work. It is a simple way of running a business. We just want to provide the kind of ingredients we would use in our own homes. The shelves are plain wood and the floor is just grey stone.
